Neighborhood Impact Director
JD describes he had a “drug” problem as a child because his mom “drug” him to every church and youth service that was offered when he was young. Obviously something seeped in because his passion and dedication to sharing the hope and love offered through the gospel of Jesus Christ is palpable.
JD is the founder of Good News Grappling, a ministry that shares the power of the gospel through empowering, equipping and educating brothers and sisters in Christ in elements of Brazilian Jui-Jitsu and self-defense.
JD believes that spiritual preparedness goes hand in hand with physical preparedness, in ones capacity to offer a well rounded witness. JD is a purple belt in Brazilian Jui-Jitsu, a U.S. Marine, a mentor, youth pastor and a Dallas marathon finisher. Above all, it is safe to say his role as a husband and dad are a big motivation behind his obedience and dedication to teaching and living out a disciple life.
